Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a Business Administrator 1 for the Division of Mineral Resources Management in Columbus, OH. The role focuses on financial management, budgeting, grant administration, and audits within ODNR.

The position offers a starting hourly wage of $33.32 with potential increases to $47.47, and may include COLA. Travel may be required, and employment is full-time with standard 8am-5pm hours.

Qualifications

• 3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. in accounting & auditing or business management.
• Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting or business management; 12 mos. exp. in accounting or business management.
• Or 12 mos. exp as Business Services Officer, 63311.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Assists with developing the division's annual operating and grant budgets.
• Reviews expenditure and revenue data, along with related reports, to monitor program and fund cash flows.
• Reviews and approves permit bonds and escrow account tracking.
• Resolves discrepancies and ensures fiscal responsibilities are met in accordance with agency policy.
• Reviews and approves accounts payable and receivable transactions and manages vendor billing correspondence.
• Prepares grant-related financial reports, federal grant forms, and drawdown requests.
• Assists with state and federal audits of the division's fiscal operations and reviews procurement documentation.
• May require travel; starting hourly pay of $33.32/hr, with step increases through Step 8 at $47.47/hr.
• There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied.
