Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Financial Administrative Specialist in the Research Service. The role focuses on administrative functions tied to budget execution and the Acquisition and Materials Program, coordinating with Research - Fiscal - and A&M Services, VA Central Office, and external entities.

Responsibilities include supporting financial planning and budget processes while ensuring compliance and efficient service operations within the VA system.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5 level in financial planning, analysis, or related financial work.
• Experience with budget planning or execution alongside budget analysts or financial staff.
• Experience supporting compliance reviews or audits to maintain accuracy in financial reporting.
• Graduate education can substitute for experience: one full year of graduate study OR superior academic achievement per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• This is a non-bargaining unit position.

• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Telework may be authorized on an ad hoc basis.
• Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
