Responsibilities include designing queries and dashboards, preparing datasets, benchmarking performance, and communicating insights to stakeholders. A relevant degree and experience with data workflows are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Business Management or related field; or an associate degree with 2+ years of related work experience.
Experience collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data across multiple systems.
Ability to design dashboards and reports that communicate insights.

Centralizes and prepares datasets by identifying source systems, collaborating with data owners, cleaning and validating data, and ensuring proper handling of protected information.
Designs and executes queries, dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights to stakeholders and support data-driven decision making.
Tracks and analyzes performance measures, annual goals, and benchmarking indicators; produces recurring analytical reports.
Supports development and improvement of departmental procedures, documentation, and data workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Job description

Description

This is a professional and technical position providing data analytics and support to internal and community stakeholders. The data analyst will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, analyzing, and visualizing data with a commitment to clear, outcomes-driven reports to advance innovation and growth while maximizing returns on investment for Coral Springs. Other duties are communicating with vendors, benchmarking and end user to determine necessary system functions, to evaluate new or upgraded technology to ensure that it meets the specific needs of City departments.

Examples of Duties

Provides administrative and analytical support for departmental projects, including data collection, updating, and maintenance across multiple systems (performance measurement, surveys, benchmarking consortia, etc.).
Centralizes and prepares datasets by identifying source systems, collaborating with data owners, cleaning and validating data, and ensuring proper handling of protected information.
Designs and executes queries, dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights to stakeholders and support data-driven decision making.
Tracks and analyzes performance measures, annual goals, and benchmarking indicators; produces recurring (weekly, monthly, quarterly) analytical reports.
Supports development and improvement of departmental procedures, documentation, and data workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Assists with accreditation processes and maintenance of benchmarking, best-practice, and award documentation.
Participates in special projects as needed and performs related analytical tasks.
Performs related tasks as required.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a statistical or research-related field preferred; Or an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a statistical or research-related field with at least two (2) years of related work experience.
