Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking a Budget Analyst at Level 3 or 4 to support the Rates & Budget team, partnering with M&O and Facilities. You’ll manage budgets, perform variance analyses, and prepare executive reports in a fast-paced defense environment.

The position offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; requires strong Excel and SAP experience, and involves cross-functional interaction with budget owners and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• No clearance required to start
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint and Word)
• Oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Experience with SAP/S4

Responsibilities

• Compiles and reviews budgets for functional or organizational units using actual performance, previous budget figures, forecasts, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper budget administration.
• Indirect expense EAC planning and monitoring, including but not limited to, oversight by pool
• Capital and NCTA budgeting, monitoring, and tracking; coinciding with base analysis and direct labor yield (DLY) analysis
• Monitors implementation of Space Sector target, which may include challenges to meet or exceed performance metrics
• Prepares regular and special-purpose reports
• Maintains historical records
• Analyzes trends
• Establishes cost rates and personnel forecasts
• Recommends and interprets budgetary policies and procedures
• Prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget
• Other duties as assigned
