University of South Carolina is seeking a Budget Analyst to support fiscal operations within the Division of Development. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical abilities.

The position is based at the Columbia campus, with a standard 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, and potential for flexible scheduling to meet department needs.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2+ years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Must have above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and be familiar with USC policies and systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Actively provide financial and administrative support to ensure effective fiscal operations.
  • Process invoices, payments, purchase requisitions, payment requests, and sole-source procurements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor financial reports, account activity, and expenditures to verify proper coding and budget compliance.
  • Assist with contract administration and coordination with legal offices as needed.
  • Collaborate with managers to support budget allocations and financial forecasting.
  • Provide onboarding support and training to new development staff as needed.
  • Support travel and reimbursement processes and maintain related documentation.
