Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Transportation seeks a Budget Analyst to join the Facilities Management Unit. The candidate will monitor OTPS and capital budgets, prepare proposals, and perform technical budget activities under the Deputy Director of Financial Management.

Responsibilities include lease budget oversight, CP packages, year-end processes, and advanced Excel analyses. The role demands independent thinking, initiative, and strong analytical skills, with relevant public budgeting

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Expense OTPS and capital expenditures for the Facilities unit.
  • Compile Expense and Capital Budget New Needs proposals and PEG savings/cost reduction proposals.
  • Perform technical budget activities including daily budget modifications, OTPS reports, and monthly spending plans.
  • Monitor the $80M+ Lease budget, review invoices, reconcile issues, track expenses, and project lease costs.
  • Prepare and submit CP packages for Facilities Management capital projects and oversee commitment plan changes.
  • Oversee year-end exercises such as encumbrance rollover and accrual exercises.
  • Perform financial functions in Passport, City of New York’s procurement platform.
  • Create complex Excel spreadsheets for advanced budget analyses.
  • Conduct additional budget analyses and special projects as assigned.
