Job summary

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Washington, DC seeks a Budget Analyst to support HRPD, LPDD and WWSD, reporting to the Chief Learning Officer.

You will monitor travel commitments and vouchers in UFMS, reconcile UFMS, and participate in strategic planning affecting budget needs. Telework is eligible; Top Secret clearance is required.

Serves as the Budget Analyst for the Human Resources and Professional Development Directorate (HRPD), Leadership and Professional Development Division (LPDD) and Workforce Wellness and Services Division (WWSD). The incumbent is under the supervision of the Chief Learning Officer

Key Responsibilities

The major duties of the Budget Analyst position include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitors all travel commitments, travel vouchers, local travel and other reimbursement vouchers in the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) and ensures that the UFMS is reconciled. Participates with branch chiefs and program managers in strategic planning, which impact budgetary requirements.

Monitors and tracks expenditures for the budget execution phase and analyzes the receipt, obligation, and expenditure of funds to ensure program funds are available and used properly and effectively. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
