Job Description
The Budget Analyst will support the federal agency by managing budget formulation, execution, and financial reporting. This role ensures compliance with federal guidelines, optimizes financial processes, and supports travel reimbursement operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in government budgeting and travel expense management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, tracking, and monitoring of budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and federal regulations.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc budget reports, analyze expenditures, and recommend corrective actions to maintain fiscal control.
- Assist in defining and implementing financial best practices, including automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Review and process employee travel reimbursement requests in compliance with company policies and government per diem rates. Verify documentation (receipts, approvals, itineraries) and ensure expenses align with pre-approved budgets.
- Serve as a liaison between departments, providing clear financial guidance, documenting processes, and making recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
Required Qualifications- Must have a BS/BA in Business, Finance, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum4yearsof experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or government finance.
- Familiarity with federal budget cycles, policies, and travel regulations.
- Experience withConcuror similar expense/travel software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial databases, and automated budgeting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
