Work Day:Monday – FridayJob Summary:The Budget Analyst will support the Department of Defense (DoD) in budget formulation, execution, and financial management activities. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and will provide critical analysis to ensure fiscal accountability and compliance with DoD policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex budgetary information to stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support budget formulation activities in alignment with the PPBE process.
- Develop, analyze, and justify budget estimates, funding requests, and financial plans.
- Monitor and track obligations, expenditures, and reimbursements to ensure compliance with fiscal policies.
- Prepare and present briefings, reports, and financial documentation for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate budget execution.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and provide recommendations for resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with federal laws, DoD regulations, and financial management directives.
- Support audits, reviews, and financial reconciliations as required.
- Utilize financial systems (e.g., GFEBS, DAI, or similar) to extract and analyze budgetary data.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degreein Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 - 5years of experiencein budget analysis, financial management, or a related field within the DoD or federal government.
- Strong knowledge of the PPBE processand DoD budget cycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial systems (e.g., GFEBS, DAI), and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
