Job summary

USVETS Inland Empire in California seeks a Budget Analyst to manage grant and contract billing, prepare annual budgets, and monitor fiscal performance across programs to ensure financial stability.

The role reports to the local Executive Director with dotted line to the VP, Fiscal Evaluation and Compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2+ years of nonprofit budgeting experience are required, with proficiency in MIP and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Experience with government/federal funding rules (OMB Circulars) preferred.
• Experience with non-profit fund accounting software (MIP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Generate and submission of grant and contract funding requests.
• Ensure timely collection of site receivables.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.
• Prepare site annual operating budgets and grant budgets in conjunction with Site Operations Manager and Executive Director.
• Prepare grant budget modifications as necessary.
• Monitor site, program, and grant financial performance; coordinate with National Office on action items.
• Prepare required internal financial reports and analyses.
• Perform site-related accounting functions as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and report on financial status of site.
• Participate in site activities and special projects as assigned.

Budget AnalystThis position reports directly to the local site Executive Director with a dotted line to the VP, Fiscal Evaluation and Compliance.
