Job summary

Cumberland County, PA is seeking an Accountant I to manage and analyze the County budget, support management with financial decisions, and oversee monthly and year-end accounting processes.

This exempt, full-time role reports to the Financial Manager 1, handles cash resources, budgeting in Euna, SQL queries, and budget reports, and collaborates with departments to publish the annual budget document.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with accounting credits; 15 credits preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in budget and accounting; government experience preferred.
• FLSA Exempt status; Full Time employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze the County budget; assist in financial data collection, preparation and analysis.
• Perform monthly and year-end accounting processes and budget-related reporting.
• Manage cash resources to maximize interest revenue and meet payroll and obligations.
• Prepare, review and publish the annual budget document; coordinate with departments.
