Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks an Accounting Clerk for Turbeville Correctional Institution to establish and maintain budgeting procedures, monitor petty cash, and organize requisitions and related documents. You will ensure timely, accurate pay for inmates and maintain orderly financial records.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and related accounting experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for experience. Four weeks of SCDC training is required after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of accounting or related experience preferred.
• Able to complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain accounting procedures for budget codes.
• Assist in petty cash and special funds monitoring.
• Develop file systems for requisitions, vouchers, reports and records.
