Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Dandridge, TN is seeking a Bucket Operator to safely operate a bucket truck and remove branches from electrical lines. A valid driver’s license with a clean record is required. Candidate should have vegetation management experience and be able to work with the Foreperson to maintain equipment.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, assisting in daily activities, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Background checks and drug screening may be required.

Job description

The Bucket Operator effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. Valid driver's license is required.

Essential Functions

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
• Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
• Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.
• Accident Reporting.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Bucket Operator have no direct reports.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or education equivalent preferred

Experience Requirements

• Two years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• Bucket truck operation experience required.
• Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
• Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must have skid steer w/ mulcher operation experience.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Must have experience operating woodchipper.
• Split dump driving experience preferred.

This position requires employees to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
