Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Bucket Operator to safely operate a bucket truck and remove branches from electrical lines. A valid driver's license is required, and two years of vegetation management experience is preferred. The role includes daily equipment prep, operation under supervision, and maintenance of tools and vehicles.

Travel for storm work is common; background checks and a drug screen may be required. Benefits include health insurance and 401K; PTO accrual varies by position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Prepare equipment and materials daily as directed by Foreperson.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Lead the crew when required and assist others.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect workers and the public.
• Report mileage to Foreperson and document daily activities.
• Support storm restoration work as needed.
• Submit timesheets and billing information via AMS system.
• Maintain above-standard customer relations.

• Pay or shift range: $19 USD to $24 USD
  This is an estimated pay range for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

The Bucket Operator effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. Valid driver's license is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
• Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
• Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bucket Operator have no direct reports.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or education equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Two years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• Bucket truck operation experience required.
• Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
• Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must have skid steer w/ mulcher operation experience.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Must have experience operating woodchipper.
• Split dump driving experience preferred.
