OPmobility in Toledo, Ohio is seeking an Injection and Tooling Engineer to drive tool concept validation and optimize injection processes. You will lead technical discussions with toolmakers, manage trials, analyze results, and ensure safety and quality targets are met.

A bachelor in plastics or tooling design with 3–5 years of experience and strong English, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills are required.

  • Bachelor degree in plastics or injection tools design (or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of experience in injection & tooling field.
  • Good command of English (oral and written).
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and design software/viewers.

Responsibilities

  • Takes part to the injection tool concept validation.
  • Brings technical proposals to improve Quality, Cost, Lead time.
  • Main technical contact with toolmakers during the project life.
  • Uses department data base tools (TCRD, FAC, Action plan, trial evaluation).
  • Organizes and leads the Trial Preparation Meeting and injection tools trials.
  • Participates in trials and manages actions to reach trial targets safely.
  • Takes part in wash up meeting after trials for analysis and synthesis with the core team.
  • Updates the action plan (FAC) and shares information with toolmakers.
  • Responsible for factory tool transfer stage and injection process reliability with factory specs.

Job Title: Injection and Tooling Engineer

Type of Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Toledo, Ohio

Responsibilities
  • Takes part to the injection tool concept validation.
  • Brings technical proposals in order to improve the project targets: Quality, Cost, Lead time.
  • Is the main technical contact with the toolmakers during the project life.
  • Uses on a daily basis the department data base tools ( TCRD , FAC , Action plan, trial evaluation … )
  • Organizes and leads the Trial Preparation Meeting. Is responsible for the Injection Tools trials.
  • Takes part to the trials and manages the needed actions in order to reach the Injection trials targets defined during the Trial Preparation Meeting, in accordance with the safety rules.
  • Takes part to the wash up meeting after the trial and the tuning loop, for the analysis and synthesis of the global results with the core team.
  • Updates the action plan (FAC) and displays the information to the toolmakers.
  • Is responsible for the factory tool transfer stage (Tool, Injection process reliability in relation with the factory specifications).
Profile
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in plastics or injection tools design
  • Good command of English
  • 3 or 5 years of significant experience on Injection & tooling field
  • Able to understand rheology studies
  • Advanced competencies in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and design software or viewer
