Job summary

Unitek College is seeking a qualified Nursing Instructor to teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical obstetrics settings. You will collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations, and evaluate student performance.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license and a Master’s degree with nursing or education specialization, plus at least four years of direct patient care and clinical teaching.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state
• Master’s degree in nursing or nursing education
• At least four years of direct patient care experience
• Clinical teaching experience within last five years
• Expertise in OB‑Gyn, Med/Surg, or related area

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and obstetrics clinicals
• Collaborate with faculty to develop and grade course materials and exams
• Evaluate student performance and maintain attendance and grades
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment
• Orient and mentor new faculty in theory and clinical instruction
• Incorporate adult learning principles and technology into teaching
• Stay current with obstetrics nursing practices, safety regulations
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and student advising
• Ensure clinical assignments meet learning objectives and facilities' requirements
• Submit reports to the program director in a timely manner
• Contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals

Job Description

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, focusing on obstetrics
• Collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical skills
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and program assessment
• Orient and mentor new faculty members in both theory and clinical instruction
• Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations in obstetrics
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising
• Ensure clinical assignments meet both student learning objectives and facility requirements
• Submit required reports and forms to the program director in a timely manner
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $55.00 (minimum), $62.50 (midpoint), and $72.00 (maximum).*

• Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing
• Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing or education, administration. OB, Pediatrics, Psychiatry or Medical Surgical
• At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
• A year of Clinical experience within the last five years (Clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care). Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c)
• Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics or OB‑Gyn
