Job summary

Unitek College in California seeks a part-time nursing instructor to teach obstetrics in classroom and clinical settings, mentor students, and participate in curriculum development.

Responsibilities include evaluating student performance, developing exams, coordinating with faculty, and advancing program quality, with opportunities for leadership development and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing or education, administration. OB, Pediatrics, Psychiatry or Medical Surgical.
• At least four years' experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• A year of clinical experience within the last five years; clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
• Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics or OB-Gyn.

• Orient and mentor new faculty members in theory and clinical instruction.
• Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations in obstetrics.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student learning objectives and facility requirements.
• Submit required reports and forms to the program director in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $55.00 (minimum), $62.50 (midpoint), and $72.00 (maximum).*

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
