Job summary

Unitek College of Nursing invites applications for a part-time campus-based nursing instructor focused on obstetrics. You will teach, supervise, and mentor students in both classroom and clinical settings, collaborating with colleagues to develop assessments and curriculum while maintaining accurate records of performance and attendance.

You will foster an engaging learning environment using adult learning principles, integrate appropriate technology, and keep current with obstetric nursing

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, active RN license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher with coursework in nursing, education or administration.
• At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• Recent clinical teaching experience within the last five years is preferred.
• Expertise in obstetrics or related nursing specialty.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, focusing on obstetrics.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical skills.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and program assessment.
• Orient and mentor new faculty members in both theory and clinical instruction.
• Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods.
• Maintain current knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student learning objectives and facility requirements.
• Submit required reports and forms to the program director in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $55.00 (minimum), $62.50 (midpoint), and $72.00 (maximum).*

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing
• Master of Nursingor higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing or education,administration.OB, PediatricsorPsychiatry
• At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
• A year of Clinical experience within the last five years (Clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care). Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c)
• Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics or OB‑Gyn
