Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct patient care from admission through discharge in a dynamic hospital setting. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, holds an active IL RN license, and has strong interpersonal and analytic skills.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Illinois RN license.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire (ER).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status on admission/at point of care.
• Organize health data so it is accurate and accessible.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and escalate.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care.
• Discuss and align plan of care with patient/family.
• Coordinate discharge planning with patient/family and care team.
• Provide patient education based on evidence-based practice.
• Reassess nursing actions to ensure outcomes are met.
• Communicate with patients, families and health care team.
