Job summary

Duke University’s Duke Human Vaccine Institute seeks a High-Containment Facility Manager to oversee the DHVI BSL-3 lab operations at RTP and campus facilities. You will train staff, ensure compliance with biosafety standards, and coordinate safety programs and equipment maintenance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a biological field and 5–7 years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex projects and safety protocols within a leading biomedical research

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, virology, or related field.
5–7 years of related experience.
Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form and work with information systems, automated and technical equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain efficient day-to-day operations of the high containment laboratory facility, including training, compliance monitoring, coordinating activities, and scheduling resources.
Direct day-to-day activities of staff and manage project goals for the facility; interact with PIs and research leaders.
Coordinate access, safety checks, waste removal, and decontamination with Duke offices; develop and improve SOPs and procedures.
