Job summary

Duke University’s DHVI seeks a High-Containment Facility Manager to oversee the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory’s BSL-3 operations. This research-focused role manages safety programs, staff training, and compliance across laboratories on campus and RTP.

The position demands a strong biosafety background, coordination with multiple Duke offices, and experience in facility and cost management. Excellent written and oral communication are essential for collaborating with PIs and researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, virology, or related scientific field.
• 5 to 7 years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient day-to-day operations of the high containment laboratory facility, including training new users and coordinating research activities.
• Direct day-to-day activities of staff and supervise facility safety operations to ensure compliance with SOPs.
