Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust is seeking a BSA/AML Analyst to support regulatory compliance, conduct in-depth investigations of customers, entities, and transactions, and assess risks related to suspicious activity and OFAC regulations.

You will ensure timely SAR submissions, maintain detailed records, stay current with regulatory changes, and collaborate with bank teams to strengthen the BSA program. Strong writing, research skills and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of BSA/AML or banking experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• CAMS, CFE, CAFP or CRCM certification preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting customer and transaction reviews, drafting narrative and escalating high risk customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on individuals and entities using public records, open-source media, internal databases and proprietary systems.
• Review AML cases generated by the Bank's transaction monitoring system to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain detailed records of investigations.
• Investigate and escalate confirmed or suspected violations as required by procedure.
• Escalate suspicious activity and risks to management as appropriate.
• Ensure SARs are filed timely and NSARs completed by due dates.
• Support BSA/AML Compliance Manager with daily monitoring and assessment of AML processes.
• Liaise with bank lines of business and other teams as needed.
