Job summary

The City of Weslaco is seeking a Brush Collection Division Supervisor to oversee the pickup and transportation of brush and bulky items within the City limits, ensuring efficient service and clean neighborhoods.

You will supervise crews, operate and train on heavy equipment (grapple trucks, backhoes, loaders, and tractors), review service methods, handle complaints, track division records, and assist in budgeting and purchasing. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years related work experience.
• Valid CDL Class B Texas Driver License; preferred but not required.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Emergency Management and Incident Command Training within first 3 months.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pickup and transportation of brush, bulky items to keep areas clean.
• Operates equipment: grapple brush trucks, backhoes, loaders, and tractors.
• Receives and resolves complaints about collection efficiency and guidelines.
• Monitors and evaluates service methods and procedures for efficiency.
• Supervises, trains, motivates, and evaluates division personnel.
• Oversees purchases and vendor price quotes for the brush collection division.
• Maintains division records and assists in preparing the operating budget.
• May require operating heavy machinery and extended hours as needed.
