Job summary

The City of McAllen is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform manual tasks in Brush Collection for Public Works Recycling, including refuse collection, street cleaning, sign installation and water/sewer work. Under immediate supervision, duties are routine and involve little public contact.

The role supports critical city services and requires adherence to safety rules. The position is accompanied by a benefits package that includes retirement with a 2:1 employer match, health/dental/vision

Job description

Under immediate supervision, the Maintenance Worker performs manual labor for the Brush Collection in Public Works Recycling servicing an operation such as refuse collection, brush collection, street cleaning, sign installations and water and sewer installation and/or repair. Employee maybe assigned a number of tasks. Employee has no responsibilities for reports or records, and decisions are made on a routine level. The employee has little or no contact with the public and has no supervisory responsibilities. Employee must abide by all safety rule and regulations.
