Job summary

Elevate Infrastructure is seeking a Sr. Associate, Brownfield Development to own a portfolio of active BESS projects across New York and the Northeast.

You will drive environmental diligence, complex permitting, interconnection milestones, and preconstruction readiness, collaborating with engineering, interconnection, legal, and finance teams. Qualifications

• 3–5 years of energy infrastructure or real estate development experience.
• Experience with utility-scale BESS or power generation preferred.
• Working knowledge of New York permitting (SEQR/CEQR, NYSDEC, NYC regulatory processes).
• Familiarity with brownfield development and environmental due diligence.
• Understanding of the NYISO interconnection process and queue milestones.
• Strong project management with ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to represent Elevate in meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of brownfield BESS development projects, maintaining schedules/budgets and milestones to project finance standards.
• Coordinate across engineering, interconnection, finance, legal, and environmental teams to keep projects viable.
• Track and report project status, risks, and milestones to leadership.
• Identify development risks (environmental constraints, permitting delays, interconnection issues) and drive resolution.
• Support brownfield due diligence (Phase I/II ESGAs) and coordination with consultants.
• Assist multi-agency permitting (SEQR/CEQR, NYSDEC, Army Corps, DOB, FDNY) and scheduling.
