Job summary

Elevate Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Associate, Brownfield Development to manage a portfolio of brownfield BESS projects across New York and the Northeast. The role involves environmental diligence, complex permitting, NYISO interconnection tracking, and preconstruction readiness, with NYC regulatory engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in energy infrastructure development, strong NY regulatory knowledge, and proven project management.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of energy infrastructure or real estate development experience; utility-scale BESS or power generation experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of New York State permitting, including SEQR/CEQR, NYSDEC, NYC regulatory processes (DOB, FDNY, local land use).
• Familiarity with brownfield development, environmental due diligence, or remediation coordination — NYSDEC BCP experience a strong plus.
• Understanding of the NYISO interconnection process and experience advancing projects through queue milestones.
• Strong project management skills — able to advance multiple workstreams simultaneously with a high degree of organization and follow-through.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable representing Elevate in agency meetings and community forums.
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York City; willingness to travel to project sites and regulatory meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Development Portfolio Management: advance a portfolio of brownfield BESS projects, maintain schedules/budgets, and hit milestones.
• Environmental Due Diligence & Brownfield Coordination: support Phase I/II ESAs and remediation coordination.
• Permitting & Regulatory: manage multi-agency permitting (SEQR/CEQR, NYSDEC, Army Corps, DOB, FDNY).
• Interconnection & Technical Coordination: track NYISO interconnection queue milestones and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Preconstruction & Stakeholder Engagement: support IFC package reviews, permit finalization, and community relations.
