Job summary

The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Brooklyn Regional Director to serve as the primary liaison for the Borough of Brooklyn. The role oversees coordination between OAG and public officials, not-for-profit groups, and community organizations, guiding outreach and strategic communication.

The candidate will work with the Intergovernmental Affairs Team to promote priority initiatives, provide policy insights, and manage external stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in New York government, politics, and/or campaigns demonstrating increasing scope of work and responsibility.
• Demonstrated understanding of and success at working within the Brooklyn region.
• Experience building and sustaining external stakeholder relationships.
• Strong writing, interpersonal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison between OAG and the communities within the region, representing the AG and OAG in meetings and events.
• Work with the Intergovernmental Affairs Team and the AG’s Executive Team to promote priority initiatives and policy strategies.
• Foster open communication with community leaders.
• Advise on emerging issues and political dynamics within the region.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve constituent concerns.
• Organize events, presentations, and visits for the AG and staff.
• Prepare reports, summaries, briefings, and other materials.
• Support other Intergovernmental initiatives as needed.
