Job summary

AHRC New York City seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Brooklyn programs. Per-Diem position with potential to become full-time with benefits based on performance; pay rate $20/hour, schedule Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM (30 hours/week).

Responsibilities include supporting individuals in self-directed living, ensuring safety, promoting activities, and assisting with ADLs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience personal or professional with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Home and Community-Based Waiver services is a plus.
• Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Flexibility to meet the scheduling needs of individuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, staff, and community agencies.
