Right at Home in Brookings, SD, is seeking a caregiver for shifts in the Brookings/Bruce area. Must be available evenings and weekends; client may smoke. Pay is $17–$20/hour, with opportunities for bonuses through our referral program and advancement track.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Personal hygiene support and daily living activities.
• Ambulation/Transfers and assisting with meals and dressing.
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions; accompany to appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping such as vacuuming, laundry and cleaning.
• Medication reminders and range of motion exercises as taught by a nurse.
• Understand dementia care and provide incontinence care as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using a bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, shaving, skin, and hair)
• Ambulation/Transfers
• Eating
• Dressing/Shaving
• Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments.
• Performs housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathroom

Performs patient-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home nurse. These could include (but are not limited to):

• Medication reminders
• Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
• Measuring and preparing special diets
• Understanding dementia care
• Incontinence care

Your pay: $17 - $20/hour!
