Job summary

Children of Promise NYC is seeking Part-Time After School Counselors / Group Leaders for our Bronx location, 2PM–6PM, Monday–Friday. You will supervise scholars and implement the CPNYC curriculum to support literacy, values, and physical fitness.

Qualifications include at least one year of after-school child care experience; an Associate’s degree or college credits (Bachelor’s preferred). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus; you should be energetic and able to work with youth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of child care experience in an after‑school setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; areas of study include Education, Social Work, Teaching, Psychology or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to scholars during after‑school hours.
• Carry out activities including arts & crafts, homework help, reading, sports & fitness.
• Implement the CPNYC curriculum to improve literacy, values, and physical fitness.
• Assist with planning and creating age‑appropriate activities.
• Develop and conduct lesson plans, read stories, lead songs and games.
• Maintain enrollment and daily attendance records.
• Assist children with homework and support academic growth.
• Attend field trips or events as needed; use public transportation and navigate city streets.
