Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Omaha, NE seeks a Broker Consultant to manage a book of brokers and coordinate day-to-day customer service, supporting the ER relationship. You will liaise between carriers and brokers, assist with rate/renewal analysis, and train brokers.

Regular visits to top brokers and ongoing relationship management are expected. The role requires knowledge of group health insurance, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a group health insurance setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must hold Life & Health license or obtain within three months of hire.
• Familiarity with products, services, and industry trends.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with VIP brokers determined by value of business and coordinate frequent contact/meetings.
• Resolve day-to-day service issues for brokers and vendors; assist with claims and billing problems.
• Respond to carrier and/or broker questions; ensure new business, renewals, and broker letters meet carrier requirements.
• Process plan changes submitted by account executives, broker consultants, and brokers; include endorsements and other requests.
• Provide follow-up communication and approvals on plan changes and enrollment issues.
• Process new business applications and ensure cases are installed quickly by the vendor.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for other lines of coverage.
• Enter data into commission database.
• Update client databases and maintain case files with implemented workflows.
• Coordinate with team to meet ER standards for service and turnaround times.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, vendors, and internal staff.
• Stay current with insurance regulations, carrier plan options, underwriting rules, and value-add programs offered by Emerson Rogers.
