Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the book of brokers in the assigned division. You will supervise Broker Consultants and Benefit Administrators, provide training, and drive service excellence.

You will use your 5+ years in health insurance, leadership, and MS Office skills to improve processes, collaborate with senior leaders, and keep brokers informed on compliance topics. This role is on site in Miami, FL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a group health insurance setting or supervisory role.
• Must hold a Life, Accident & Health license.
• Expert knowledge of health/ancillary products, carrier processes, and industry trends.
• Knowledge of agency management system functionality, workflows, underwriting, sales, and service processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of Broker Consultants and Benefit Administrators, including timecards and PTO approvals.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to team members; deliver performance feedback and development plans.
• Collaborate with executives to ensure high service levels and efficiency across the department.
• Define organizational structure with HR; coordinate recruiting and staff development.
• Escalate issues for team members and identify process improvements to meet goals.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training of operations staff as needed.
• Support carrier/vendor goals and resolve day-to-day broker service issues.
• Educate brokers on ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
