Job summary

Role Overview

Lead Broker

The Broker Assistant plays a key role in supporting Brokers and Associate Brokers by coordinating account activity, facilitating communication between clients, agents, and underwriters, and ensuring the accurate and timely execution of policy placements and service deliverables. This position requires strong organizational and analytical capabilities, with responsibility for maintaining account integrity, resolving service issues, using independent judgement, and contributing to overall client satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Brokers and Associate Brokers to support placement strategies, client service, and overall account management.
  • Act as a central point of communication between agents, underwriters, and internal team members to ensure seamless information flow and execution.
  • Prepare and support the development of quotations for new business, renewals, and policy changes, ensuring responsiveness and accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Facilitate the issuance of binders, invoices, and applicable filings, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to agents.
  • Communicate coverage details, policy terms, and potential exposures clearly and effectively to agents and clients.
  • Review policies, endorsements, audits, and related documents to verify accuracy; identify discrepancies and implement necessary corrections.
  • Respond promptly to service-related requests from internal teams, agents, and underwriting partners.
  • Maintain and organize all account documentation, ensuring files are accurate, complete, and compliant with internal standards.
  • Ensure cancellation and non-renewal processes are handled in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee suspense items and follow up on outstanding documentation, including policies, endorsements, inspection reports, and other required materials.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and carrier partners, addressing questions, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for coverage enhancements.
  • Monitor account activity, including billing, collections, and tax-related items, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients and underwriters to support retention and growth of the business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Wholesale insurance experience is preferred
  • Home state P&C insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Proven organization skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make independent decisions, following company guidelines, with little to no supervision from assigned Broker
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common computer applications
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the office and attend in-person meetings as needed

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple considerations, including but not limited to an individual's background and qualifications, relevant experience, geographic market conditions, role complexity and responsibilities, demonstrated competencies, training, and other factors.

Additional benefits for eligible employees include:

  • Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded at the Company's sole discretion and is not guaranteed.
