Job Description

We’re seeking instructors to teach the following courses, with the potential for continuing appointments based on enrollment and need.

  • CRTV 235 – On‑Air Radio – Fall 2026 – In‑person, MW 9am‑12:50pm
  • CRTV 129 – Broadcast News – Spring 2026

Instructors will design syllabi, train students in technology use, and conduct both lecture and lab sessions. Students will produce shows or segments for the 24‑hour internet radio station, Hornet Radio, and create video and audio news packages following broadcast journalism standards. The candidate(s) will have access to Adobe Creative Suite, a multimedia/video studio, and industry‑level audio/video equipment.

Teaching at least six units per semester (>≈ two classes) provides access to health insurance under the current adjunct faculty bargaining contract.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher AND at least two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment
  • OR an associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment
  • OR a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
  • OR equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee
  • Commitment to diversity: demonstrated sensitivity to differing academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds, and ability to apply equity‑minded practices in the classroom
