Job summary
Rocky Mountain Public Media is seeking a Broadcast Technology Specialist to support daily systems across broadcast and digital platforms in Greeley, CO. The role focuses on automation, studio systems, distribution, streaming, and on‑call technical support, working with the Director of Broadcast & Engineering to maintain reliable operations.
The ideal candidate has a technical background in broadcast operations and is able to learn specialized systems quickly, with training provided.
Qualifications
- Experience with broadcast operations or related technical fields; relevant education may substitute for professional broadcast experience.
- Familiarity with broadcast automation systems; WideOrbit Automation preferred; other automation platforms welcomed.
- Knowledge of professional audio systems, signal flow, digital audio, cabling, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Telos/Axia AoIP systems; other AoIP or audio-routing platforms may be considered equivalent.
- Basic understanding of computer systems and IP networking with ability to troubleshoot routine connectivity issues.
Responsibilities
- Support operation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadcast automation systems and workflows.
- Collaborate with Programming, Traffic, News, Development to keep schedules and content reliably on air.
- Administer content libraries and distribution workflows, ensuring proper scheduling and metadata.
- Provide on‑call support for studios, production facilities, and live events.
- Assist with equipment installation, cabling, maintenance, upgrades, and technical projects.
- Support transmission facilities, remote sites, and field responses as needed.
