Job summary

David&Goliath is seeking an experienced Producer to work independently and with peers to manage diverse projects spanning radio, TV, longer formats, digital and social content. You will oversee budgets, schedules, vendor searches, casting, music licensing, editing, post-production, and final delivery while coordinating with creative teams and Business Affairs.

This role reports to the Executive Producer and requires on-site presence in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of agency and/or production company or post-production company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of video and radio production, bidding, scheduling, and producing projects without supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to see the big picture.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SAG/AFTRA talent rules.
  • Experience with music creation/licensing, copyright, and licensing parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects independently and with other Producers across radio, animatics, pitch videos, TV, longer format, digital and social, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
  • Book and supervise TV and radio sessions and post-production sessions.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities: budgets, schedules, vendor searches, bidding, casting, talent booking, music licensing, editing, post-production, and final delivery.
  • Collaborate with creative, account management, project management, and Business Affairs; lead projects and keep teams informed.
  • Source and review showreels for directors, editors, music houses, VFX, AI companies; suggest vendor matches.
  • Organize information, schedule meetings, track costs, and complete paperwork and reports.
  • Report to Executive Producer.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Producer's role is to work independently on his/her own projects as well as teaming with other Content Producers to manage projects of varying scope and scale to completion, including radio, animatics, pitch videos, television, longer format, digital, and social, on-time and within budget.
  • Producer should be confident in booking and supervising TV and radio sessions and post-production sessions.
  • Producer will oversee day-to-day production activities for assigned projects, including creating production budgets and production schedules for most efficient approach, vendor searches, bidding through cost consultants, casting, pre-production, talent booking, production, music composition/licensing, editing, post-production, and final delivery.
  • Producer will work closely with other producers as well as the creative teams, account teams, project management, and Business Affairs. Serves as the Leader on his/her projects, maintaining constant communication with these departments on a daily basis, to keep them informed and ahead of the curve during all phases of production, provide guidance, rally teams, and steer projects to keep them on track.
  • Will search for, call in, and review showreels for directors, editors, music houses, VFX companies, AI companies, etc., and suggest perfect vendor matches to creative teams -- both the clear choices, as well as discovering/introducing new choices.
  • Will organize information, schedule meetings, track costs, and complete paperwork and reports.
  • Reports to Executive Producer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three (3) years of previous agency and/or production company or post-production company experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of video and radio production and feel very comfortable bidding, scheduling, and producing projects without supervision.
  • Critically important to have excellent organizational skills, and to be extremely detail oriented. Also must be able to see the big picture, and how details impact it.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects concurrently, working under tight deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills; critically important to have excellent ability to anticipate problems and clearly articulate creative solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAG/AFTRA talent rules.
  • Working knowledge of the music creation/acquisition landscape, including music copyright, licensing, and legal parameters.
  • Strong ability to recognize, identify, and avert any and all potential legal issues.
  • Strong interpersonal relations skills, with ability to consistently display a professional demeanor, stay cool under pressure, and handle strong personalities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player, collaborator, and open mind to finding efficient and effective ways to work.
  • Automotive production experience is a plus.

The base salary range is $80,000 - $95,000 plus benefits. The role is based in Los Angeles, CA and CA candidates only.

Please note: This role requires the Producer to be onsite in the D&G office 3 days per week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Additionally, on any day some on-set production, on-site editorial and Post-Production, and occasional travel may also be required.
