Job summary

WROC/RochesterFirst in Rochester, NY is hiring a Broadcast Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day repair and maintenance of the station, studios, and transmitter. You will assist in maintaining the technical infrastructure essential to a fast-paced news operation.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in engineering or communications or equivalent experience.
• Experience with digital electronics in a television broadcasting environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain broadcast technology and equipment for the station and transmitter sites.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineer to implement technologies and infrastructure for the station.
• Assist in installing, preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all station equipment.
• Maintain and repair studio and transmitter HVAC systems.
• Maintain, install, and repair studio lighting, computers, furniture and other equipment.
• Assist in maintaining station vehicle fleet, including live satellite trucks and management vehicles.
• Assist in capital-based projects, including design, installation, and maintenance.
• Tune in Remote Sources for on-air and off-air use via TVU Receivers.
• Ingest commercial spots, local promotional spots, and syndicated local and network programming to the Master Control Hub.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WROC-TV/RochesterFirst.com in Rochester, New York is hiring a Broadcast Maintenance Technician to assist with the day-to-day repair and maintenance of the station, studios, TV equipment and our transmitter. The Maintenance Engineer's primary responsibilities are to help maintain the technical infrastructure of the TV station, and to support a fast-paced news operation. Good candidates should be a Jack-of-all trades and enjoy large variations in daily duties. This is a full-time position, with full benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station and transmitter sites. Familiarity with Ross Overdrive, Robotic cameras, Chyron Prime, NewsTicker, and other production tools preferred

Requirements & Skills:

• Technical Degree in Engineering, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Must be versatile and able to adapt to constantly evolving systems and devices
• Experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment preferred
