Gulf Coast News in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking an IT Specialist to oversee IT operations and support a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the IT Manager and handle daily maintenance of computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and end-user support.

Responsibilities include assisting with system upgrades, providing technical guidance, maintaining LAN infrastructure and enabling secure data backup and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts.
• VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management.
• Experience with enterprise and web-based applications.
• Experience with a large user base.
• Experience in television broadcast setting preferred.

• Support user needs across News, Creative Services, Sales and Administration.
• Maintain imaging machines, update firmware, and manage hardware inventory.
• Assist IT Manager with system upgrades and new platform deployments.
• Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support.
• Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, and installation and support of network hardware and software.
• Occasional travel to transmitter sites and other company sites.
• Analyze and implement corporate data backup, disaster recovery, and security procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Gulf Coast News, located in Fort Myers, Florida, is looking for an IT Specialist to join our station. You will help oversee the IT operations at our station and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

The IT Specialist reports to the IT Manager and performs daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and provides user support.

• Support user needs across all departments, including News, Creative Services, Sales and Administration
• Maintain imaging machines, updating firmware and managing hardware inventory
• Assist the IT Manager with systems upgrades and new platform deployments
• Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support
• Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware and software
• Occasional travel to transmitter and other company sites
• Analyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedure

Requirements

• Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts
• VMWare, Cisco or Microsoft certifications preferred
• Prior experience with a large user base
• Experience in the television broadcast setting preferred
• Experience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiers
• Enterprise and web-based applications
• VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management
• Communications skills and customer-service attitude
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
• Higher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience will be considered
• In person attendance is required
