Job summary

Gulf Coast News in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an IT Specialist to join our station and help oversee IT operations. You will work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment and report to the IT Manager.

You will perform daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network equipment and printers, provide end-user support, and assist with system upgrades and data security initiatives across News, Creative Services, Sales and Administration.

Qualifications

Experience with managed network switches and architecture concepts.
VMware, Cisco or Microsoft certifications preferred.
Experience with a large user base in an enterprise environment.
Experience in a television broadcast setting preferred.
Knowledge of VPN, TCP/IP, subnets, NAS and LAN management.

Responsibilities

Support user needs across departments including News, Creative Services, Sales and Administration.
Maintain imaging machines, update firmware and manage hardware inventory.
Assist IT Manager with systems upgrades and new platform deployments.
Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support.
Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure and support network hardware and software.
Occasional travel to transmitter and other company sites.
Analyze and implement corporate data backup, disaster recovery and security procedures.

Gulf Coast News, located in Fort Myers, Florida, is looking for an IT Specialist to join our station. You will help oversee the IT operations at our station and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The IT Specialist reports to the IT Manager and performs daily maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers and provides user support.

Responsibilities

Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware and software
Occasional travel to transmitter and other company sites
Analyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedure

Requirements

Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts
VMWare, Cisco or Microsoft certifications preferred
Prior experience with a large user base
Experience in the television broadcast setting preferred
Experience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiers
Enterprise and web-based applications
VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management
Communications skills and customer-service attitude
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
Higher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience will be considered
