Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Structural-Bridge Technical Manager to lead and self-perform design of transportation structures. You will mentor staff, guide project teams, and provide technical oversight to ensure high-quality engineering documents.

The role emphasizes directing analyses, communicating progress to the Project Manager, and upholding rigorous quality controls while growing the IL Structural group. Hybrid schedule in Chicago or Naperville offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience with transportation focus.
• Proven track record managing multiple structural-bridge projects.
• Experience mentoring and directing staff on technical skills.
• Experience with IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct the technical skills development of staff.
• Manage technical elements of a project, including analyses scope and approaches.
• Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design; ensure design details are complete.
• Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Manager promptly and continuously.
• Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking.
• Contribute as a technical specialist or advisor and support practice growth.
