Job summary

Yonkers Contracting Company, Inc. is seeking a qualified Structural Steel Project Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience to lead steel bridge and sign structure projects in the New York area.

You will develop work plans, collaborate with design teams, and support construction with on-site issue resolution while maintaining project documentation. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Proven ability to collaborate and function effectively as part of a team.
• Proven experience in structural steel work for heavy civil construction projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop specific work plans for erecting or demolishing structural steel bridges and sign structures. Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with structural design teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
• Provide engineering support during the construction phase, addressing technical issues and resolving on-site issues related to structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence.
