Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking an Estimator (Bridge/Structural) to service transportation projects in Maryland and Virginia, with offices in Annapolis Junction, MD or Richmond, VA.

You will prepare and coordinate complete Bridge/Structural estimates for bid opportunities, focusing on traditional and complex structures such as segmental or cable-stayed forms. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and several years of estimating experience on heavy civil

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5 years related experience preferred if not degreed in a related field.
• Experience estimating on heavy civil projects (Bridge, Highway, Utility, Rail).
• Public and private project estimating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review proposals, specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, perform site visits, and determine scope and estimate requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and full cost estimates for items with self-review.
• Review cost items against historical data and incorporate least cost/best value solutions.
• Coordinate with estimators, operations managers, clients, and vendors to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare bid documents, pricing forms, and manage client clarifications.
• Track job-cost data on awarded contracts and support change orders.
• Maintain estimation records and improve cost models and templates.
• Stay current on equipment options, crew sizing, means, methods, and new processes.
