Job summary

Canam Bridges in Claremont, NH designs, manufactures and installs steel bridges. This role involves fitting structural components, reading shop drawings and applying welding procedures to ensure alignment and tolerance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience/training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong reading and mathematical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, align and fit together fabricated parts according to shop drawings or prints.
• Operate cutting and heating torches.
• Check camber and sweep tolerances and make necessary corrections.
• Tack weld in all positions using multiple welding processes.
• Grind parts, torque bolts and operate cutting equipment.
• Produce a finished product that meets standards while following quality procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and identify hazards.
• Assist in training efforts and mentor other employees.
• Work in a safe, professional and courteous manner.
• Understand welding procedures and read weld symbols on shop drawings and prints.
• Read and interpret complex shop drawings and apply information accordingly.
