Job summary

HWC Engineering in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a qualified Project Manager with bridge and structural design experience to lead projects from survey through construction. You will manage a team of engineers and technicians on INDOT, local agency, and private projects, coordinating design, cost estimating, and letting processes.

The ideal candidate holds a PE in Indiana or can obtain licensure, with 6+ years in bridge design and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• 6+ years’ bridge design and project management experience.
• Professional Engineering License in Indiana or able to obtain.
• Design skills across rural, urban, and interstate bridges, roadway design, cost estimating, specs and VE.
• Knowledge of NEPA for federally funded projects.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads/ORD and MS Office.
• Experience with bridge design software such as Merlin-Dash, Vslab, Conspan/Leap Bridge, or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Lead project manager and lead designer on bridge and structural projects.
• Perform design calculations for roadway and bridge components.
• Lead design from survey through letting and construction.
• Design sketches and technical work as required by assignments.
• Lead design and manage staff (PEs, EIs, Techs) on INDOT, Local Agency, and private projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prepare cost estimates.
• Interact with client teams, INDOT staff, and partner firms.
