Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge projects from inception through final plan tracings and coordination with client, prime and sub consultants.
• Perform hand and software supported bridge analysis and design computations.
• May perform bridge inspections, prepare bridge condition reports, and supervise load rating computations.
• Supervise project team for development of plans for bridges and other transportation structures.
• Prepare contract bid documents including final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural projects.
• Visit project sites to perform inspections and provide engineering support during construction.
• Coordinate with survey, roadway, drainage, and planning within the transportation department.

Job duties include:

• Manage bridge projects from inception through final plan tracings and coordination with client, prime and sub consultant.
• Perform hand and software supported bridge analysis and design computations.

• Coordinate with other disciplines within the transportation department including but not limited to survey, roadway, drainage, and planning.

• Licensed PE in Indiana, with qualifications to obtain the license in other states such as Ohio and Kentucky
• 7-10 years of experience in bridge design
• Experience preparing structure plans for DOT projects.
• Experience using the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Additional Desired Skills and Experience

• FHWA 2 Week Bridge Inspection Course or one week course for Professional Engineers
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Experience with Bridge Inspection Reference Manual
