Job summary

HUNT-EAS is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and detail plans on Local State and County highways, including bridge rehabilitation and culvert projects. You will work with clients and a bridge team leader across multiple project stages, from feasibility to construction administration.

The role requires strong technical writing and communication skills, a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, and experience with Microstation/Open Roads Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Minimum four years of experience with at least 2 years in direct bridge design tasks; EIT preferred, PE a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local and state bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects, culvert projects, and NYSDOT specs/details.
• Microstation/Open Roads Designer experience is a must.
• Knowledge of bridge design software is a plus.
• Good technical writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge in plan, specification and estimate preparation.
• Self-motivated, organized, and open to learning new design procedures and methods.

• Evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, procedures and criteria to solve technical issues.
• Design complete projects, systems, components or processes.
• Prepare basic and advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure project success.
• Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to prepare complete project documents including design reports and final plan sets.
• Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems.
• Interpret and follow scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, completing projects within budget and on time.
• Assist with proposal development for professional services.
• Perform field investigations/site visits as needed and prepare reports.

About the Role

This position will work with our clients and bridge team leader to design and detail plans on a variety of projects on Local State and County highways including bridge rehabilitation/replacements and culvert projects. There will be opportunities to engage projects at all stages of design and construction including feasibility and preliminary design where input on design decisions will be valuable, structural design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, permitting, bidding, and construction administration. Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience (with at least 2 in direct bridge design tasks), preferably with EIT (PE is a plus)
