Qualifications

• 6 à 9 ans d'expérience en conception de ponts.
• Licence d'ingénieur professionnelle valide (P.E.).
• Connaissance des normes et spécifications de conception de ponts (AASHTO).

Responsibilities

• Effectuer/superviser les calculs pour la conception des ponts.
• Réviser les calculs et les détails de conception développés par d'autres.
• Superviser et encadrer les EITs et stagiaires.

We are currently searching for an experienced Bridge Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs
• Perform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity
• Review calculations and design details developed by others
• Attend meeting with clients and other professionals and organizations
• Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraints
• Review construction related submittals
• Organize and maintain project files
• Supervising and mentoring Structural EITs and Interns
• Assist with marketing bridge and structure design work

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master of Engineering , but not required
• Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.)
• 6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge design
• TxDOT experience is strongly
• Skilled in the use of OpenBridge Designer
• Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures
• Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures
• Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications
• Familiarity of TxDOT bridge standards and design manuals is strongly
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver’s license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
