A leading engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer to enhance their transportation team. In this role, you'll lead bridge design projects, collaborate across disciplines, and provide solutions for complex designs. The ideal candidate will have a PE license, solid experience in bridge-specific engineering, and the ability to guide junior engineers within a dynamic work environment.

Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $111,500.00/yr

Bridge Project Engineer | Rochester or Buffalo, NY | $95K–$111.5K

Our established engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer to join their growing transportation team. This is a critical opportunity for a licensed PE with strong technical skills and experience designing complex bridge structures in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and coordinate detailed phases of bridge design projects
• Apply advanced engineering judgment to develop and evaluate solutions
• Collaborate with internal teams across disciplines and with project managers
• Independently plan and manage your technical project workload
• Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure all work complies with applicable standards
• Recommend design and development improvements for quality and efficiency
• Mentor junior engineers and support a collaborative project culture

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s a plus)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license — required
• 4+ years of bridge-specific engineering experience
• Proficiency with engineering and modeling software such as:
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering business practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to lead elements of design work independently
• Experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Participation in a professional engineering society a plus
• Locations: Rochester or Buffalo, NY
• Schedule: M–F, standard business hours (40–44 hrs/week), some flexibility allowed
• Relocation: Offered (local candidates preferred)
• Travel: Local only
• Background check: Required
