We are currently hiring dependable, safety-focused individuals for Bridge Painter / Industrial Coating Technician opportunities working on bridge, commercial, and industrial coating projects throughout Oklahoma. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have experience in bridge painting, sandblasting, surface preparation, industrial coatings, airless spray systems, or commercial painting and are looking for steady, full-time work with long-term potential. Candidates with direct bridge painting experience can qualify for the highest pay range, but previous bridge painting experience is not required for candidates with strong blasting or industrial coating backgrounds. This is a physically demanding, hands-on trade position. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors, traveling to project sites, working at significant heights, and following strict safety procedures.
Pay Based on Experience
Heavy Bridge Painting Experience — $28.00–$30.00/hour

Blasting / Industrial Coating Experience — $24.00–$27.00/hour
Candidates with previous blasting, industrial painting, protective coating, or commercial coating experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous bridge painting experience is not required if you have transferable industrial skills and are willing to learn the requirements of bridge and infrastructure coating work.
Position Overview
As a Bridge Painter / Industrial Coating Technician, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople performing surface preparation, blasting, painting, coating, maintenance, and restoration work on bridges and other commercial or industrial structures. The work changes based on the project, so successful candidates must be flexible, dependable, mechanically capable, and willing to perform a variety of physically demanding duties. Your work directly contributes to protecting major structures from corrosion, weather, deterioration, and long-term damage.
What You'll Be Doing
Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing steel, concrete, and other surfaces for protective coating applications
- Performing abrasive blasting and other surface preparation procedures
- Operating pressure washers and related cleaning equipment
- Removing rust, scale, debris, failing coatings, and surface contaminants
- Applying primers, paints, sealants, and protective industrial coatings
- Using rollers, brushes, and airless spray equipment
- Assisting with bridge painting and recoating projects
- Removing deteriorated caulking and sealant materials
- Installing or replacing caulking and sealants as required
- Mixing and preparing coating materials according to project specifications
- Protecting surrounding surfaces and work areas before coating applications
- Moving, lifting, carrying, and positioning tools and materials
- Setting up and breaking down equipment and work areas
- Maintaining hoses, spray equipment, tools, and job-site materials
- Helping maintain clean and organized work areas
- Assisting experienced painters, blasters, and crew leaders
- Inspecting completed work for proper coverage and quality
- Following project specifications and supervisor instructions
- Adapting to changing duties as project conditions require
- Following all company, project, and job-site safety requirements
Work Environment
This is not an indoor production painting position. Candidates should understand that bridge and industrial coating work can be physically demanding and performed in challenging outdoor environments. You must be comfortable working:
- Outdoors for extended periods
- On bridges and elevated structures
- Several stories above ground level
- From lifts, scaffolding, platforms, or similar equipment
- In temperatures above 85°F
- In temperatures below 40°F
- Around industrial equipment and active construction environments
- During occasional nights and weekends
- Extended hours when projects require overtime
If heights, outdoor conditions, or physically demanding work are not something you are comfortable with, this position may not be the right fit.
Travel Requirements
Projects are located throughout Oklahoma, and employees must be flexible regarding project locations. Depending on the assignment, travel may include:
- Daily travel to different project sites
- Travel outside the Oklahoma City metro
- Projects throughout Oklahoma
- Occasional overnight travel
- Early morning departures
- Extended project schedules
- Occasional night or weekend work
Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically capable of performing industrial field work throughout the workday. This may include the ability to:
- Lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
- Carry tools, hoses, equipment, and materials
- Bend and stoop repeatedly
- Kneel and crouch
- Reach overhead
- Climb as required by the work environment
- Push and pull equipment
- Maintain balance while working from elevated areas
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Safely use both hands and arms to operate tools and equipment
- Perform repetitive physical movements throughout the shift
Candidates must also have adequate vision and hearing, naturally or with correction, to safely perform assigned work and recognize job-site hazards.
