Job summary

The State of Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation - Highways seeks a Bridge Maintenance Supervisor I. This role supervises Bridge Maintenance Workers in the Hawaii District Office, handling maintenance of structural steel, reinforced concrete and timber bridges, including work at heights and underwater conditions.

Candidates will need six years of construction/maintenance experience with three years in bridge work, and one year in a supervisory capacity; a valid Hawaii driver’s license is

Qualifications

• Knowledge of bridge inspection and maintenance work.
• Familiarity with welding and cutting equipment.
• Understanding of painting prep on steel, concrete and wood.
• Awareness of rigging, scaffolds and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, assign and review the work of Bridge Maintenance Workers.
• Inspect bridges to determine repairs and estimate costs.
• Prepare maintenance reports and maintenance budgets.
